Andy Britnell
Andy Britnell Following a successful start to his motor racing career in kart racing, Andy moved to circuit racing in a 250 bhp Escort in the Modified Production Car Series, finishing third in the championship in his first season.

In 1990 he raced a Group N Sapphire Cosworth with Vic Lee Motorsport, competing successfully in several one hour races, two 500k events and the notorious Willhire 24 hour race.

After a brief return to modified production saloons, Andy was back in a sapphire Cosworth for the 1992 BARC Production Car Series and by the end of the season he was a regular top three finisher. This momentum was maintained during 1994 in a completely rebuilt car and front row qualifying in most rounds was rewarded with a second place finish in the Class A Championship.

In 1995 Andy switched to Escort Cosworths prepared by Benfield Motorsport and turned in some impressive victories alongside team-mate and brother, Gary. The season culminated in Andy winning the Production Saloon Championship.

During 1996, Andy moved into the fast and furious world of TVR Tuscan racing. Impressing many big-budget operations along the way with some very creditable performances, including an outright win at Oulton Park.

2001 was Andy’s fourth in Tuscans and with 8 wins, 4 fastest laps and 3 Pole positions giving him 2nd Place in the Championships, his best Tuscan season ever.

Andy also won the Donington Park Racing Association Trophy which has many prestige drivers on its nameplace.

A new car for the 2002 Tuscan Challenge brought mixed fortunes and by the time the car was sorted it was too late and a brace of second places and some regular top six finishes resulted in 5th overall at the season end.

In 2003, Andy moved to the Porsche Carrera Cup and finished 6th overall. The team was run by Vic Lee and VLR

In 2004 Andy continued to race his Porsche in the Porsche Carrera Cup. The car was being run by Motorbase Performance, under the experienced eye of David Bartrum and finished 6th overall.

2005 sees Andy, once again racing under the flag of Motorbase Performance, take on the world's noisiest, fastest and most dramatic cars in the British GT3 competition. Andy will also be running in the Porsche Carrera Cup at the Brands Hatch rounds.

During 2006 Andy took a year out to focus on new business developments, although he did compete in the final round of the Carrera Cup at Silverstone finishing 4th in the pro-am category.
